2011 Ford Explorer is Headed for Success

by Ford in the News on March 29, 2010

Sneak peek. Step inside the showroom of the New York International Auto Show, which will be open to the public on April 2 to April 11. The 2011 Ford Explorer takes its sleek appearance from the Explorer America concept. Not only is the 2011 Ford Explorer lightweight, but also has an eco-friendly car-based wagon. Most definitely, improving fuel efficiency with its smaller engine.

A future Ford crossover is what Ford needs to boost sales. No more fuel-wasting with this new concept crossover. The 2.0-liter V4 option offers 275 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. While, the 3.5-liter V6 will have 340 horsepower and 340 lb.-ft of torque.  Surely, both options are best.

Be first to see it. Production of the modern interior 2011 Ford Explorer offers three-row seating.  Equipped with inflatable seat belts in the rear seats. Air bags are sewn into the inside of the seat belts, and inflate with cold air to prevent burns. Consumers will be impressed by the 2011 Ford Explorer.

One thing is certain: today’s SUV market is very different than decades ago when the Explorer was originally introduced. SUVs that that found popularity in the early 1990s had to adapt to different market conditions, and different consumers. Instead of the venerable Nissan Pathfinder, shoppers among Virginia Nissan dealerships, for example, gravitate more towards the crossover vehicles that give little or no pretense of ruggedness, like the Rogue or Murano. While the Nissan Pathfinder Auburn WA still finds plenty of buyers, it’s the brand’s more car-like offerings that see the highest demand. Ford’s lineup meanwhile already has the Edge and the Flex, which might beg the question of whether there’s even room or need in the lineup for the Explorer.
