Safety was a priority when engineers were developing the all-new 2012 Ford Focus. According to Ford Chattanooga, that determination to make it one of the safest compact cars on the road has not only led to a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but also the five-star overall safety rating from the Euro NCAP.
Ford Lincoln Dayton said that both IIHS and Brussels-based Euro NCAP independently test the safety levels of vehicles and present major safety awards and rankings based on their findings. In all tests, the Focus performed well thanks to a strong body structure engineered to meet global safety standards.
Other standard safety features for the 2012 Ford Focus include:
- AdvanceTrac® Electronic Stability Control
- SecuriLock® passive anti-theft system
- SOS Post-Crash Alert System™
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
Today’s compacts are brimming with style, technology, and amenities. But for Los Angeles Ford customers, the Focus stands for its efficiency, quality, and of course its safety.
“We were committed from the beginning with the new Focus to design and engineer a vehicle that leads the way both in terms of technology and safety,” said Gunnar Herrmann, Global C Car vehicle line director. “The inherent strength of the new Focus is the structural rigidity of the body and its extensive use of high-strength steels.”
