When Ford was designing the 2011 Mustang, the goal was to develop a modern-day muscle car that appealed to both the legions of Mustang loyalists and today’s new generation of enthusiasts. And while the current ‘Stang’s design cues can satisfy even the most ardent traditionalists, it’s models like the new DUB Edition Mustang that are building buzz among a fresh crop of the faithful.

This new Mustang package is the result of a long-running partnership between the Blue Oval, lifestyle/auto publication DUB magazine and Ford’s longtime motorsports/aftermarket partner Roush Industries. Leveraging the expertise of each, the DUB Edition Ford Mustang starts life as a 2011 V-6 model, then DUB ups the ante with a full complement of Roush goodies, including a custom front fascia, front splitter, quarter window louvers, lowering kit and a windshield banner, along with a DUB stripe package and embroidered DUB logos for the front headrests.

Also part of the package: 20-inch TIS wheels wrapped in Pirelli performance rubber and a new 3.31 rear-axle ratio for squeezing even better acceleration out of the already potent Mustang

“The Ford Mustang is the most customized vehicle in the world,” according to Fritz Wilke, the car’s brand manager. “And this collaboration pushes the boundaries even further.”

Of course, pushing boundaries is nothing new for the 2011 V-6 Mustang. It’s the first car to break both the 300-hp mark and top 30 mpg on highway—delivering 305 ponies and 31 mpg, to be exact.

Speaking of deliveries, Ford will deliver this tasty DUB Edition in just about any flavor Mustang V6 a customer could want. It’s available on coupe, convertible and glass-roof models, with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, wrapped in a choice of four different exterior colors: Black, Grabber Blue, Race Red or Ingot Silver.

And in a nod to one of the Mustang’s ultimate ancestors, the interior of the DUB Mustang is available in any color you want: So long as it’s black.
