Ford Fusion Continues To Grab Sales And Awards

by Ford in the News on March 9, 2010

The all-new 2010 Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid continue to be bright spots within he Ford lineup. Already, Ford has entered 2010 with strong sales and continuing success. But the Fusion in particular has also helped fuel sales from customers that are new to the brand.

When it was launched, Ford had high hopes for the Fusion as it competes with segment leaders like the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and Nissan Altima. However, in a very short time, the Fusion has clearly proven itself in many areas such as performance, efficiency, and even luxury, and the sales figures speak volumes. Its share of the midsize car segment in 2010 has increased 12.2 percent.

Redesigned just last year, the new Ford Fusion has increased steadily in sales and has been responsible for many “conquest sales,” or sales to customers new to Ford. In fact, the percentage of customers new to Ford purchasing the Fusion Hybrid reached 82 percent in February.

“There is no reason for customers shopping for a midsize sedan to look beyond the Fusion, because the lineup offers something for everyone – a Hybrid model, a Sport version and a new selection of gas-powered engines paired with a six-speed transmission,” said Fusion Marketing Manager Jonathan Richards.

Not only do the sales figures say plenty about the Fusion and Fusion hybrid, but so do the accolades which have included:
