One of the most important new products coming down the pipeline at Ford is not a car, truck, or SUV -  it’s the new EcoBoost engine. Ford’s EcoBoost will provide power for the F-150, the Taurus, and other Ford models, providing a balance of power and efficiency when it finds its way into 90 percent of Ford’s lineup in 2013.

To meet demand for this new V6 engine, the EcoBoost will be built at Ford’s Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1, which had previously been idle since 2007. With plenty riding on this new powerplant, Ford dealers such as Maine Ford dealers are excited that Ford is investing $55 in retooling and equipment upgrades at the Cleveland facility. While jobs are an important concern in the automotive industry currently, the new engine plant will consist of about 250 employees to manufacture the EcoBoost engines.

With the EcoBoost V6 quickly finding its way into most of Ford’s lineup, quality was an important concern when outfitting the facility. As a result, the plant was equipped with a new internal database that will help ensure that quality is monitored, which will translate to high-quality products overall, according to Pittsburgh Mercury dealers. Additionally, Ford has also educated the facility’s workers with intensive training programs intended to ensure quality.

Ford’s new EcoBoost engine will help the automaker provide outstanding fuel efficiency, thanks to direct injection and turbo-charging says used cars Salt Lake City dealers. As Ford maintains that fuel efficiently will remain an important goal in their lineup, the EcoBoost engine will be the basis for achieving that objective. Look for the EcoBoost first on the upcoming 2010 Lincoln MKS, Lincoln MKT, Ford Flex, and even the powerful reintroduction of the Ford Taurus SHO.
