Ford has won another Energy Star Award from the Environmental Protection Agency recently, marking its third award from the EPA so far. As Ford tries to make sweeping changes amid its financial troubles, it has been rewarded for its efforts in reducing the energy needed to manufacture many vehicles in their product lineup.

Since 2000, Ford has been trying to improve energy efficiency both in their manufacturing and also in within their product lines. The automaker has reportedly reduced its energy consummation by approximately 30 percent, while it also has added hybrid models for buyers looking for something less harmful to the environment, including Ford Dealer Ashland top seller the Ford Escape Hybrid. Corporate office and warehouse space at Ford now featured energy efficient bulbs and motion sensors which dramatically cut down wasted electricity.

Ford is trying hard to practice what it preaches. The automaker is pushing hard to develop more hybrid vehicles, as well as researching new plus-in electric vehicle (PHEV) technology. While it hopes to produce more and more green vehicles, Ford is also helping to do so in a more energy efficient way.
