Ford Wins 4 of 5 About.com Readers’ Choice Awards

by Ford in the News on April 2, 2012

Des Moines Ford let us know that About.com—one of the country’s top online information resources—recently tallied up its annual automotive Readers’ Choice Awards for 2012 and the numbers tell the story.

High-quality vehicles from Ford were the top-rated choices in every single segment but one:

Family Car—The Ford Fusion was honored for its “roomy interior, broad choice of powertrains, and long option list”; and remember, the 2013 Fusion is set to debut later this year with a striking new design and five efficient powertrains, including two EcoBoost engines and two hybrid systems.

Best Car for Teens—Winning this segment for the second straight year was the Ford Fiesta, which showcases impressive levels of safety equipment, an available Ford Sync in-car connectivity system and EPA marks of up to 29 mpg city/40 mpg highway/33 mpg combined.

Best Car under $16,000—Fiesta took this title, too, thanks to the fact that it makes those just-mentioned benefits—and more—available at a starting price of just $13,200: With a total of four models, including sedan and hatchback body styles, that begin below $16,000.

Best New or Redesigned Car—Ford Mustang Boss 302, adding yet more hardware to a trophy case that already featured a Drivers’ Choice Award from MotorWeek, the Sports Car of the Year crown from Autobytel.com, and the Play Car of the Year honor from Cars.com—to name just a few.

And while Ford didn’t happen to win that one final category, for Best Performance Car, Ford Dealers CT pointed out that the Boss 302 did come in second. Which still leaves room for improvement for Ford in next year’s About.com Readers’ Choice Awards.
