Each year, the experts at Kelley Blue Book crunch the numbers to help recognize automakers’ outstanding achievements in producing new vehicles that will best maintain their appeal after five years of ownership. And in this one particularly important measure of vehicle quality, Used Cars MD was glad that three Fords that took home the highest honors.
Ford Taurus—Scoring the highest marks in the Full-Size Car category—for the second consecutive year—was the Ford Taurus, lauded for “an upscale interior worthy of a luxury sedan and spiced up with the inclusion of Ford’s unique SYNC infotainment system.” Editors also commended the Taurus’ available EcoBoost V6 engine “that combines efficiency with excitement.”
Ford Mustang GT— “Fuel economy may be all the rage, but the appeal of affordable horsepower is as strong as ever,” noted KBB.com in giving the Mustang GT the nod in the High-Performance Car segment. Of course, in the Mustang, the two aren’t mutually exclusive: As the publication also went on to note, even though the Mustang’s 5.0-liter V8 delivers 412 hp, it’s also able to achieve up 26 mpg on the highway.
Ford F-Series SuperDuty—Winning its second award in a row in the Full-Size Pickup segment, the SuperDuty “continues to offer immense towing abilities but with an added focus on passenger comfort and a newfound level of technological sophistication,” enhanced by a new lineup of more powerful and more fuel-efficient powertrain choices.
James Bell, executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com., said that “Consumers should take a good look at the projected resale value of a car when choosing their next new vehicle purchase.”
And that surely means taking a good look at today’s high-quality Ford products sold by Ford Dealers.
