It’s no wonder that Fast Company named Ford as one of the most innovative companies when it comes to mobile technology. Things sure are looking good for the American car maker and we expect the 2011 Ford Edge to only continue building the company’s reputation.
The 2011 Ford Edge awes us with its bold, fluid front grille; bi-functional projector-beam halogen headlamps; sculpted tail lamps; large, four-inch bright exhaust tips, and a standard rear spoiler.
With a new 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 engine that delivers 285 horsepower and a responsive 253 lb.-ft. of torque coming standard on SE, SEL and Limited trims, the 2011 Edge is turning heads everywhere. It is hard to believe that the Edge Sport is even more stylish and powerful than the other Edge trims, but this is why: 305 horsepower, a six-speed SelectShift Automatic™ transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel, and 22-inch wheels.
The interior contains groundbreaking Ford technology that promises to wow you! Setting the pace with MyFord Touch™ driver connect technology, the 2011 Ford Edge has the ability to fully integrate phones, entertainment, navigation and climate controls, has two configurable 4.2-inch LCD displays in the instrument cluster, an eight-inch touch screen in center stack, and two, five-way steering wheel control pads. That’s not all that Ford has! Look for voice-activated SYNC®, SIRIUS Travel Link™, BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alerts, Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support, and Intelligent Access Push-Button Start.
In terms of Safety, the new Edge is fully loaded, which is something everyone in the market wants to hear. With a total of six standard airbags, standard AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®), standard Personal Safety System™, and a SOS Post-Crash Alert System™, it is obvious that the Ford Edge does not take safety lightly.
Coming to a dealership near you in Summer 2010, keep an eye out for the 2011 Ford Edge.
